P’pup weekend

The P’pup weekend went ahead over Saturday and Sunday 1/2nd September 2012 in Hunstanton, Norfolk. We set up camp based at Diglea campsite during the evening of Saturday night where we had reserved the rally field for us. During the day we were set up at the beach of Old Hunstanton. The weekend is a good excuse for anyone who has been on one of my holidays to get together and have a good catch up. People came from all over the UK and further afield so thanks to Matt Dresser who came all the way from Paris, Nick Brown who came from Glasgow, Mike Porter from Poole and everyone else who came from quite literally all 4 corners of the UK. In total there were approximately 100 people there throughout the weekend.

This year there was no exception and lucky for us Naish also were involved along with Hunstanton Watersports. Naish bought all their demo equipment including the latest 2013 kites as well as the Fly and Ride of 2012 and SUP boards for the Sunday afternoon when there was no wind. The Fly saw the most action for the weekend as the wind blew not much more then 15mph on the first day and less on the Sunday. The 14m Parks and Torches were also out a lot and people seemed most impressed with the improvements on the Park.

From our side we pitched a marquee and ran a bbq all night Saturday at the party and all day again on Sunday. Dom was running wave courses all weekend for anyone who wanted to learn more about swell and how to ride a waveboard. The courses are partially theory and partially water based. The courses went down really well.

The Crash Baftas began at 10.30pm on Saturday night. It was a compilation of the best wipeouts on Jo Wilson Coaching Holidays to date. That means the wipeouts from all my clients. The top prizes were shots of rum! Pikey Park Up is the one weekend where you are perhaps dont leave feeling quite so healthy after one of our holidays / weekends. I wasn’t sure how the Crash Baftas would go down, but they will definately be on the cards for next year.
