Today was the second day of my first trip running Brazil Baby Surfari and Coaching. At this time of year its hard not to resist the temptation to hit one of the worlds most reliable kite spots. The crew turned up on the night of the 19th October. Miranda Gillott, Jamie Wadhams, Anna Smee, Chris Rabone, Craig Nicholls and Bindi Harris. What a fantastic crew!
The trip has started here at Pro Kite Brasil in Uruau where we have a small lagoon directly in front of our hotel big enough to ride on and bust some stunts. Its concentrated riding as its very small, but it allows each person to choose one trick and concentrate on getting it nailed. There is no time to waste energy crusing any long distance trying to decide when to take off as the lagoon is not big enough to do that which is great.
Today I had organised buggys so we could quest out and find a bigger lagoon with no riders which is exactly what we managed to do! It was our own area of peace and tranquility and finding a more perfect spot would be difficult to come across.
Here the guys were able to launch from the offshore spot in perfect flat water and we felt as though we were in amonsgt the mangroves in real Brazil.
Its an ideal place to learn new tricks and after having ridden there today and learned the layout of the lagoon, tides, sandbards etc tomorrow we can push some limits and I will coach the guys with their next tricks!
