The first of the Beazil holidays taking place from 20th October - 4th November will run differently to my others. For this holiday I have 3 people who are of intermediate level working on hooked in rotations etc and 2 people who aren’t yet able to stay upwind. The group will be split in to two where I work with the intermediate kitesurfers for half the day and run ‘transition’ sessions for the beginner group for the other half. This transition group will work on their kite control, confidence with the kite, confidence with board riding and learning to stay upwind. I dont think there could be a better place to learn this then in Brazil because of the warm perfect conditions. This spot is ideal for a lady who can even have complete beginner lessons at the start of the trip included in the price to bring them up to speed. There is one space left and hope you can make it.
At home with Jo Wilson
We have just finished after 4 days of kitesurfing with Jalou Langeree and Danielle Durrant. Both girls were up to visit me at my homespot in Cumbria so I thought I’d give them a good english experience. Rambles in the rain, running in the mud, kitesurfing in beautiful conditions, toad in the hole for dinner and a few pints of locally brewed Ale too - well not for Danielle, she’s only 16!
We had great wind and I seemed to be riding on form for once which is great when there is a video camera around! It never usually works out that way. I didnt get to bust out my ‘new’ move but came pretty close. Im yet to land that in a wetsuit! I was pleased to see that England gave it all it had! Watch out for the next episode on Naish TV.
PS. Spaces just became available on Brazil Baby Safari and Coaching 2011
Hitting my home spot
I’m taking a break from the coaching this week and my team mates Jalou Langeree and Danielle Durrant are at my house making a movei for Naish TV. We are scoring some awesome conditions with us on 8m, 9m and 10m Naish Torches today busting some freestyle! We are off to a secret spot tomorrow so fingers crossed for more awesome conditions!
North East to South West to Naish TV
Last weekend I visited Northumberland for a 9ft swell forecast and 25mph hour wind. I had my first try of the new 2012 Park which was good fun. We scored big waves, but very messy and also found flat water inside an estuary for a freestyle session too. This current weekend I hit the southwest, but no wind on this occasion. Keeping my eye open for wind this coming weekend as hoping to film our next movie for Naish TV. Check out the making of the 2012 photoshoot here now.
Prolimit International
Hey all, guess what! I finally have a fantastic sponsorship for wetsuits. In my career of kitesurfing I dont think I have ever been 100% satisfied with the wetsuits that I wear, but now things have changed. I have just signed a contract with Prolimit International.
(Throwing a railey in the Prolimit Pure Chill Top Vest)
I have tried their wetsuits in the passed plus I had some fantastic light thermal tops for my recent trip to Egypt which worked absolutely perfectly. Being based mainly in the UK having a great wetsuit is crucial, so I am over the moon to have Prolimit behind me. They can provide the wetsuits necessary for the wide variety of different locations that I visit as a professional rider and as a coach. Woop woop!!!
Check out Prolimit

Soma Bay 2011 - The synopsis
Well what a trip to Egypt this year. We had the most amazing conditions that you can ask for. Wind everyday for a month! I’m happy to have headed back this year after an equally good trip there the year before. I ran two coaching holidays while out there.
Chris Moore throwing in a grab to his front loop both learned during the trip
Both were sold out and I think that everyone had a good time - I hope! There were big smiles all round and woops on the water on the landing of new moves, so its a good sign.
Sarah Courtney boosting big after a goood pop take off.
I personally spent 4 weeks in Egypt in total giving me the chance to ride for two weeks between 2 weeks of coaching. I also learned a lot on this trip. We had a variety of conditions blowing anything from 30 knots on the occasional day to 20 knots on a regular basis. The kite sizes I used the most were 6m, 8m and 10m with the 8m being used nearly everyday.
Jo Wilson having fun in the sun
Thanks to Craig Nicholls, Sarah Courtney, Mike Porter, Sean Savage, Sandra Unite and Chris Moore for working super hard on the new tricks and skills. My next trip is based in the UK in October, but keep your eyes peeled for the pikey park up weekend! Its going to be a blast.
The Egyptian Energy Crew, July 2011
Many thanks to Nik Weber at the 7bft Centre for the great photos

Egyptian Energy Number 2
Today was the first day of the next of my Egyptian Energy courses. There are 5 guys and 3 girls, but with only 6 places on the course a couple of them are enjoying lessons with the local school while everyone else works on improving their level with me. There is a good mix of ages from age 30 - 61 and a real mix of levels in ability.
This morning we woke up to a quick early morning deep in the gorgeous waters of the red sea followed by a little stretching. Then we hit the beach.
The wind blew around 18-20 knots today which was perfect for 9ms and some people worked on their jumping, while others worked on rotations or even back loop kite loops! The wind drops off later in the day so its a great chance to try tricks that might otherwise seem daunting and with such a good forecast this group I hope will be racking up the repetoire.
The hotel we stay in is stunning and tonight there was a beach party theme with bbq food, drinks and a fire display from two egyptian people. It was amazing!
Tomorrow brings a new day and an early start so its off to an early bed!! Hope you enjoy the updates. Thanks Jo
Egyptian Energy June 2011
Egyptian Energy June 2011 has just come to an eventful end racking up another trip with 100% success rate with the wind. I had a full trip with 6 guys and fortunately the girlfriend of one of the guys to help even the numbers out… however if you are a girl out there please sign yourself up next time. 6 guys are extremely good fun, but hard to handle!
The guys were fantastic ranging through different ages with the youngest in his early twenties and oldest in their forties. Now normally my trips are healthy fitness holidays racked with early morning exercises, loads of kitesurfing followed by some stretching in the evenings before a delicious hearty dinner. This one was no exception but there was no stopping Rob and Sam with their duty free vodka! To be fair I wouldnt have it any other way plus they still made all the early morning missions, first bus to the beach and stretching in the evening, so fair play!
The guys were all at a range of levels learning anything from pop and jumping, to blind, transitions, back loop kite loops, double rotations and unhooking. It gave plenty to work on throughout the trip. Adam probably took the biggest beatings of all with some of his wipeouts although I do try to minimilise this for everyone.
For the last night we watched the highlights from the video footage kitesurfing action of the week while drinking mohitos, beer, whisky and wine - an eclectic mix for a last night send off. Now everyone will be at home relaxing for the weekend before hitting work fresh and with new perspective. Meanwhile, Im lucky enough to stay in Egypt for one week to ride my new kites and bust out new tricks before starting a second course on the 1st July! I’ll keep you posted!

Day 2 Soma Bay 2011
Well first day on the water today and it was a mini sandstorm to set us off! Pretty crazy stuff for 7m and 8m kites for the guys! Everyone hit the water to begin with to get used to the conditions and the new spot, but the lovely flat water made the tricky wind easy. Th guys were working on anything from jumping and jump transitions to back loops, one handed back loops and front loop transitions! Wind was a bit mental for anything more! After kiting we hit the sky bar and had stretching session with a cool refreshing beer to reach towards! Now for a big dinner to fuel us ready for tomorrow!!
