Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has booked a Jo Wilson Coaching Session or Holiday through 2014. As always it was such a pleasure for me to be part of your holiday and I hope I can tempt you with more coaching challenges to come through 2015.

(Kitesurfing Coaching Sessions are interspersed with free riding time with new friends on Jo Wilson Coaching Holidays)

The dates for the new holidays are now released with South Africa, Egypt, Tiree and Brazil the highlights of the year. This year will see the introduction of the Triple T challenge for the coaching holidays. Its a new method tried and tested through the 2014 Brazilian coaching holidays and its a challenge designed to help you think of new moves and variation to spice up your kitesurfing.

Through the holidays you can win points for each new move you land and you can gain bonus points for adding twists. By twists I don’t necessarily mean a rotation, but I mean toeside take off’s or toeside landings, grabs, inverts or more. For those of you who want to keep think simple or funky there are are tricks to learn just to get you off the beach in a different kind of manner, transition in a different way or rescue yourself out of a crash landing. Its all fun fun fun and there to keep you thinking and learning long after your coaching holiday is complete.

Variations to the South Africa Adventure will this year not only see us in langebaan and blouberg, but also quest off in search of epic kiting on the cape peninsula too. Egypt will stick with its popular warm, laid back vibe but with the added twist of the Triple T. Tiree will hit a whole new level as we combine both wave and freestyle and a bigger group with more coaches to keep it lively, sociable and keep you on your toes at all time. Brazil is hitting an all time high where the surfari will take a new format. Its safe to say that this trip now combines the tides to the maximum advantage to make an ultimate experience of huge empty lagoons, beautiful head high waves and open water bays. With 4 years under our belt on this trip and over 40 people’s feedback I think the Brazilian Surfari 2015 will be the best one yet.

I would also like to introduce Nanette van der Snoek. Nanet now works with me on most of the kitesurfing trips to ensure you gain the most of your kitesurfing. With younger blood she helps to ensure we don’t forget some of the top moves and at the same time has a great vision on how you can simply develop your very own skills. Passionate about kitesurfing to the very end she is a very welcome addition to the now developing Jo Wilson Coaching team.

Next up lets not forget the kids! 2014 was a great kick start for Jo Wilson Coaching with youth coaching. We ran two separate trips designed to help young people progress in the spot and find away to develop their skills whether they would like to kite as a hobby, enter small competitions or go for the big stuff like the world tour. 2015 will see this coaching develop meeting some great young people enthused with the sport.

Many thanks for all your support through 2014 and please continue to stay in touch through 2015 too.

Many thanks
